Team South Africa concluded the last day of swimming with valiant efforts in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Wednesday, 3 August 2022.
Rebecca Meder started off the final swimming day with the 50m backstroke final and finished in 8th position. Canadian Kylie Masse, claimed the gold by setting a new games record.
Duné Coetzee finished 8th in the 100m freestyle final. Although she did not earn a podium finish, she improved her personal best by 0.07 seconds.
The 4x100m Freestyle medley ladies is gave it their all for the bronze medal, unfortunately they were a split second short and ended up finishing fourth overall.
