South Africa’s Miné de Klerk won the discus throw bronze medal at the 2022 U20 World Athletics Championship in Colombia on Wednesday, 3 August.
On Tuesday, the 19-year-old won gold in the shot put event.
Miné de Klerk Successfully Defends Her U20 Shot-Put World Athletics Championship Title
In 2021, de Klerk won silver in the same event in Nairobi. She fought hard in this year’s competition but it was Emma Sralla from Sweden that had a massive throw of 56.15m to claim gold and Despoina Areti Filippidou of Greece, who threw 54.48m to claim silver.

De Klerk threw her best at 53.54m to claim bronze and her second medal of the championship, beating her previous best record at the championship by 0.04cm.
