Kenya Lionesses Retain Safari 7s Champs in Nairobi

The Kenya Women’s Rugby Sevens team successfully retained their Safari 7s title, beating Uganda Cranes Ladies 26-0 at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, on Sunday, 31 October 2021. 

On their way to being crowned champions, the Kenya Lionesses beat their counterparts, Lionesses II 33-0 before outclassing Titans Academy from South Africa 38-07. Their biggest victory of the day was against Zimbabwe, who they defeated 45-0.

The Kenyans showed their class as they ran four unanswered tries past Cranes to sail to victory.

Kenya Lionesses II secured the silver medal, while Uganda claimed bronze to conclude the top three.

The Kenyans also enjoyed a clean sweep as they took all three individual awards. 

For her, impressive 66 points, Grace Adhiambo emerged as the Top Scorer, Janet Okello scooped the Top Try and Most Valuable Player awards.
