The Maties Women’s Football team has been boosted with the appointment of renowned local football coach, Jabulile Baloyi, as she looks forward to her new venture with the Stellenbosch University side.

On Monday, 11 October 2021, Maties Sport made the official announcement on Twitter, where Baloyi shared her excitement, saying: “I am both humbled and excited to be joining the Maties family, especially at a time of this exciting partnership between Maties & SFC in a venture to grow & advance women’s football.”
Over the years Baloyi has dedicated her life to developing women’s football in South Africa.
In 2018, she became the first female coach to win the USSA National Club Championship that was held in Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha).
Under her tutelage and with the assistance of U17 Girls coach, Simphiwe Dludlu, Baloyi has guided the South African U20 women’s team to the third round of the 2022 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
