Prudence Sekgodiso Secures 800m Semi-Final Spot at World Athletics Champs

South Africa’s long distance sensation and 2023 Momentum gsport Awards Emerging Athlete of the Year finalist, Prudence Sekgodiso, smoothly races to a spot in the 800m semi-final on Day 5 at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Wednesday, 23 August.

Sekgodiso completed a second-place finish in Heat 1 in a time of 1:59.72 and will be back in action on Friday, 25 August at 20h45 CAT for the semi-final race. 

In the women’s Javelin Throw event, Jo-Ané van Dyk finished 10th with a throw of 60.09m to guarantee her qualification for the final.
