#Reminder – SPAR Proteas to Battle for Netball Africa Cup This Weekend

The SPAR Proteas will be in action this weekend as the Netball Africa Cup will commence on Friday, 18 October 2019, at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town.

The South African team will be led by head coach Dorette Badenhorst together with her assistant Dumisani Chauke who were recently brought into the forefront by the Netball South Africa federation, taking over from Norma Plummer who had successfully guided the team to a fourth-place spot at the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool early this year.

This first task for Badenhorst and Chauke will see them starting their cup chase against Malawi at 6pm on Friday evening with the Proteas led by the experienced Bongi Msomi as captain. There has been a balanced squad chosen with both youth and experience as the coaching staff are looking to compile a formidable side that will be a solid foundation drawing up to the next Netball World Cup in 2023.
