Since their 1-0 loss to University of Western Cape at the beginning of May, University of Pretoria have struggled to win a game in 3 attempts. This weekend they went 5-2 down to Royal AM Ladies at home.

The dip in form comes after Maud Khumalo’s side notched up a seven-game unbeaten run, that loss to UWC seems to have dented their confidence extremely. As a result, they now sit 7th on the league table. The assignment will not get easier with a trip to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies looming in what we anticipate will be a thrilling Tshwane Derby.

Thwihli Thwahla entertain TUT Matsatsantsa in the next round of fixtures. The Western Cape team will come up against the defending champions who are high in confidence, who sit at the summit of the standings following their routine 2-0 defeat of Copperbelt Ladies FC in Lebowakgomo.

Coach Jerry Tshabalala was pleased with the result: “Look, great game, credit must go to the girls, we fought today. Like I said before it’s not easy to come to Copperbelt and get a three points. It’s exciting that we play better as a team. They never troubled us.”

Despite a consistent showing by Banyana Ba Style, they can’t relax nor be complacent because hot on their heels is a consistent University of Johannesburg. UJ have been sublime so far this season, this week was no different they put 5 goals past Thunderbirds FC. The triumph sees them maintain their second position level on 31 points with the leaders Sundowns.

Thunderbirds meanwhile, remain rooted at the bottom of the standing with one point and no win after 13 games played.

As week 13 continued, the Blues were stunned by Richmond United thanks to goals from Tshepiso Radebe in the 23rd while Luica Gaonwe cemented the 2-1 victory in the 50th minute. Despite the loss Thinasonke Mbuli’s side remain third while their opponents surge into the top 5.

University of Fort Hare secured 3 points in a slim 1-0 victory versus City Lads FC at Davidson Stadium. Durban Ladies earned bragging rights in the KZN-derby as they won 1-0 against newcomers Lindelani Ladies.

TS Galaxy Queens continue to reign, they travel back to Johannesburg with maximum points in the bag courtesy of two unanswered goals from Banyana Banyana internationals Nicole Michael and Nomvula Kgoale. This win earns the Rockets a five-game winning run as coach Sizwe Sibiya shows TS Galaxy management that he is indeed the man for the job since his return to the club.

The only game on Sunday at the Oscar Mphetha Stadium saw JVW FC win 1-0 at away through a Gabriela Salgado goal.
