Team South Africa has secured two medals at the Para Athletics World Championships in Kobe, Japan, from 17 – 25 May, 2024.
Liezel Gouws claimed bronze in the Women’s 400m T37, while Louzanne Coetzee took bronze in the Women’s 1500m T11 final.
Back home, 17-year-old Juané le Roux, prior to setting off for Kobe to join Team SA in Japan, set a new African record in the Girls U20 Discus T46, at the 2024 Toyota SASAPD National Championships.
SA Sportswoman of the Year with Disability, Simonè Kruger, the current world record holder in the F38 discus event, will compete on Africa Day, aiming for further success in 2024.
