The South African U17 Ladies Water Polo team claimed top honours at the EU Nations Water Polo tournament in Brno, Czech Republic on Sunday, 10 October 2021.
The tournament took place from 7-10 October, featuring countries from across the globe.
Team South Africa showed intention from the start of the tournament, beating Lithuania 32-3.
The Etienne le Roux-coached side went on to battle hosts, Czech Republic, winning 20-7.
On Saturday, 9 October, South Africa continued their momentum, beating England 19-4.
In the final match on Sunday, the team beat Slovakia 15-5 to earn a clean sweep of victories.
South Africa’s Olufunke Gando was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
