Momentum Proteas wicket-keeper, Sinalo Jafta, reveals the team’s readiness to level the ODI series as the South Africans take on West Indies on Thursday, 3 February 2022, at Imperial Wanderers Stadium.

The previous match saw the two nations battle to the wire as the encounter was determined in the Super Over.

Super ODI as West Indies Narrowly Win Over Momentum Proteas

Momentum Proteas wicket-keeper, Sinalo Jafta, is confident and upbeat as the team focusses on bouncing back in the third match.

“I really enjoy the intensity on the field. The one thing we always pride ourselves on is body language and we always have to switch on and switch off, those are the things we can’t control but as a team, the intensity was there even though sometimes we were behind.

“I pride myself on being ready for the game. Temperament is everything and consistency is the one thing I have been working on in the last couple of months. Contributing to the team, whether it is with the bat or gloves and just being present for the team,” she added.

Jafta commended pace-bowler, Shabnim Ismail, for having stepped up to the bowl in the Super Over in the previous match, “Coach always tells us, that once the game gets to the Super Over, it is either you bowl really well or the opposition just bats really well. The masterclass we saw from (Deandra) Dottin, anything in her area she went for. I will commend Shibz for picking up her hand, sometimes we might be speaking a different tune, when she might have actually gotten it through but I just feel that with the two-world class batter and bowler coming against each other anything could have happened.”

The third ODI between South Africa’s Momentum Proteas and West Indies will start at 14h00 on SuperSport, channel 212.
