Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio Claims Bronze at Strade Bianche in Italy

South Africa’s top professional bicyclist, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, began her final season on the road with a third-place finish at the Strade Bianche Donne race in Tuscany, Italy on Saturday, 5 March 2022.

Moolman-Pasio reached the finish line in 03:59:24, 10 seconds behind second place Annemiek van Vleuten, while her SD Worx teammate, Lotte Kopecky claimed first prize on the day.

Speaking on her achievement on her Instagram account, the 36-year-old says: “Today the team was on fire riding with @amypieters in our hearts!

“So happy to start my final season with @teamsdworx on a high and with this special team of strong women.”

In February, Moolman-Pasio posted news that 2022 would be her final season as a pro cyclist as she shifts focus to her business – Rocacorba Cycling and Rocacorba Collective – and to continue help grow women’s cycling.
