“The preparations are going well, and we are looking forward to a great series,” revealed Badenhorst.
Going into the tournament new teams had to be selected due to the unavailability of a number of overseas-based players, resulting in a build-up of combination play throughout the team’s training sessions.
“I just think that each player is now taking the time to combine with the (other) players around them and knowing each other is very important. I’m looking forward to a great competition.
“Every training session was really important for us. It is important that we set our goals for every training session that we make sure that we go through all the different skills and different set-plays for the competition.”
Badenhorst is eager to win every game, saying: “Our team goal is definitely to go out and win every single game because every game will be a ranking game, so it is very important for us to go out and perform well.
“It is always difficult to play against Africa, I’ll never underestimate those teams. They are never easy to play and they keep possession,” she concluded.
