A century by Anneke Bosch set the South Africa Emerging on their way to a 5-0 series sweep over Zimbabwe Emerging after comfortably winning the final match of their One-Day series by 69 runs in Bulawayo on Wednesday, 26 May 2021.
The right-hander was in attacking mode as she blasted 109 off 100 balls (11 fours, 1 six) at the Queens Sports Club where the tourists posted 238 all out after being asked to bat first.
The home side could manage just 169 for nine in reply despite batting out their 50 overs, with Christabel Chatonzwa key to their innings after she top-scored with 54 (117 balls, 6 fours). Masabata Klaas was the most successful of the visiting bowlers, snaring two for 21 in six overs.
The result ensured the South Africans ended the tour on a high.

Bosch was at the heart of an indifferent batting display in which the next best score after her ton was opener Annerie Dercksen’s 33.
But the centurion proved to be the mainstay for the home side, scoring freely through the middle overs. She put on 80 with Dercksen for the third wicket, whilst adding 50 with Micaela Andrews (35) for the sixth wicket after a mid-innings stumble.
That did enough to get Dinesha Devnarain’s team to a competitive total when they were bowled out in the final over.
Zimbabwe’s reply was a struggle as they limped to 37 for three in 15 overs. This after Klaas struck twice and Modester Mupachikwa (22) was run out by Robyn Searle and Leah Jones.
Chatonzwa and captain Josephine Nkomo (30) then combined for their main partnership of 64, although that took over 20 overs, keeping the pressure on for the locals.
Jade de Figueredo (1/23) eventually broke the stand, leading to a flurry of wickets.
There were one each for Andrews, Nobulumko Baneti (both 1/22), Nondumiso Shangase (1/13) and Jones (1/23), with Jane Winster also excellent as she sent down 10 overs for 15runs, including four maidens.
That kept Zimbabwe in check and sealed another big win for South Africa.
