Botswana Netball Association has secured a lucrative sponsorship deal with Lucara Diamond worth P300, 000 for the national netball league.
The deal marks the company’s second official move into women’s sports. Recently, they unveiled a sponsorship deal of P300, 000 with the Botswana senior women’s football team.
Lucara Diamond Managing Director, Naseem Lahri, says: “I hope that the support we are giving you will help improve our world netball rankings, develop structures, identify and nurture talent. Let us try to strive to grow sports in Botswana, especially women’s sports.”
Sports Management Agency consultant, Game Mothibi, congratulated the association and Luca Diamond on the partnership and hopes that it will help increase women’s officials and offer training to women administrators.
“The COVID-19 pandemic affected several sports codes and women’s sports had been sacrificed I am glad Lucara prioritized women’s sports. This sponsorship will ensure that we retain women’s sports and hopefully attract more girls to sports,” revealed Mothibi.
