Global sports streaming service, DAZN, has acquired global rights to broadcast the UEFA Women’s Champions League and has been awarded host broadcaster duties for the next four seasons.
This groundbreaking agreement has also seen DAZN enter into a partnership with YouTube that will make the competition live and free for fans to watch around the world.
Rob Pilgrim, who is Head of Sport, EMEA at YouTube, shared his thoughts on the partnership on LinkedIn, saying: “Proud and honoured to share news of our partnership with UEFA & DAZN – bringing the Women’s Champions League to a global audience – live and free on YouTube.
“Visibility changes everything: This partnership is one of the largest football deals in women’s club history, and ensures a long-term global commitment to women’s sport,” he added.
“This can turn players and teams into household names and inspire the next generation of players – all of which starts with more people around the world watching the game.”
