Hollywoodbets Dolphins Women and Eastern Cape Iinyathi Women both struck commanding wins in the CSA Professional Women’s Domestics One-Day Cup on Saturday, 16 March, 2024.

In Division 1, Hollywoodbets Dolphins hosted Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers Women at the Hollywoobets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban and, after winning the toss, the hosts chose to have a bat first.

Dolphins women had home ground advantage and made good use of it. Leading from the front captain Courtney Gounden (31) and opening batter Alexander Candler (17) put on a well-structured 37-run partnership, before Candler was bowled by Tiche Frans.

Asamkele Kawu (31), Zintle Mali (24), Luyanda Nzuza (32), Kwanga Pinini (20) and unbeaten stance at the crease from Kiara Fisher (26*) and Jade de Figueiredo (14*), saw the hosts post a competitive total of 221/8 in their 50 overs. Tiche Frans took 3/39 as Badgers tried to hold down the run fest from the Dolphins side.

In response captain of the Badgers Tazmin Brits (63) put on a hard-fought half-century before she was bowled by Nosihle Ngubane. The visitors never fully recovered from there, as Julia Hoal (10), Tabitha le Grange (21*) and Koketso Manyaga (10*) were the only other players to reach double figures. Badgers were bowled out for 144 in the 37th over, with Nonkululeko Mlaba taking 4/31 as the Dolphins beat the Badgers by 77 runs.

In the only match in Division 2, Eastern Cape Iinyathi Women hosted Kei Women at Buffalo Park, East London. Kei elected to bowl first after they won the toss. Genevieve Frits (43), Emma Wearings (14), Siyamanga Mhletywa (32) and Thabelani Metu (40) helped the hosts reach 183 all-out in the 47th over. Tembela Ngcobo was the star with the ball boasting a sensational 5/28, to restrict their hosts.

In the run chase, Kei put on a spirited fight with Zenande Nongqayi (55), Enkosi Mditshwa (15), Asaphila Jani (13) and Chumani Majambe unbeaten on (11*) all making double figures, but it was not enough as Kei was bowled out for 123, in the 45th over.
