Dumisani Chauke, former Spar Proteas Assistant Coach, will serve as the official ambassador of PEP mini Netball as PEP announces the expansion of its programme aimed at empowering and upskilling local netball coaches.

Chauke, also the Head of Sport at the Tshwane University of Technology, has been a key figure in the development of netball in South Africa.

The new PEP mini Netball Coaching Sessions are designed to enhance coaching techniques, deepen knowledge of the game, and develop leadership skills to elevate the overall standard of netball coaching. Dr. Elsje Jordaan, a Sports Scientist from Sportisimo and current Golden Fireballs Coach, will join Chauke as the coaching facilitator for these sessions.

“The PEP mini Netball programme is close to my heart, I am passionate about empowering coaches and nurturing talent within the netball community.

The programme will reach hundreds of coaches across six provinces – Gauteng, Western Cape, Free State, Limpopo, Northern Cape, and North West Province – beginning in Limpopo.

“PEP is making a difference in the lives of coaches and players alike,” says Chauke. “I am thrilled to be part of this journey and look forward to inspiring others to achieve their full potential.”

Beyers van der Merwe, Chief Marketing Officer at PEP, expressed excitement about the collaboration with Chauke and Jordaan. “Their passion for the game and commitment to empowering young players and coaches aligns perfectly with our key founding principles of providing accessibility and positive influence in local communities.”

Dr. Jordaan added, “It is great to witness PEP’s investment in both players and coaches. Our goal is to educate and exchange ideas on how our netball games can be elevated. By working together with our communities, we can develop passionate and skilled coaches dedicated to nurturing the next generation of netball players.”

The initiative also benefits from the expertise of motivational speaker and team culture coach Minnette Dempsey. The collaboration with South African Schools Netball (SASN) further ensures that young girls are given a platform to excel in netball.
