The Momentum Proteas had a tougher weekend at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2013 in India, suffering a crushing seven wicket loss at the hands of a much more experienced England outfit. Ashley Twichell became the first USA swimmer to win the Midmar Mile, outside Howick on Sunday, beating Brit Kerry Anne Payne (silver) and top SA swimmer Michelle Weber (bronze) to the top of the aQuellé Midmar Mile 2013 podium.
And with half of the series already behind us, 2012 Olympian Tiffany Kruger secured a comfortable fourth straight Marine Surfski Series title ahead of Nikki Russell and Danica Bartho, at the Hansa Surfski Challenge in Durban on Friday evening, and looks the strong favourite to clasp her hands around the 2013 trophy when the competition ends on 15 March.
