Here are gsport’s October 2023 Newsmakers!

October was another big month for women’s sport. With the Olympics around the corner many sportswomen worked hard to ensure they are part of the games. Gymnast Caitlin Rooskrantz had a successful run at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships and also booked her ticket to Paris. 

The Springbok Women’s Sevens team will be joining Rooskrantz in Paris after they beat Kenya to claim the Rugby Africa Women’s Seven title. 

Meanwhile, the Proteas Women secured a series draw over New Zealand in their recent T20 series. South Africa displayed some good bowling which saw them level the series.

Vicky van der Merwe is now the best triathlete in Africa after her triumph at the African Triathlon Championship, let’s take a look at just who topped the Newsmakers List for October 2023:
