Johanita Scholtz showcased her incredible form at the 2024 SA Badminton Championships in Cape Town, winning both the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles titles.

Fresh off representing South Africa at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Scholtz demonstrated why she’s the nation’s top badminton star.

In the Women’s Singles final, Scholtz faced Diane Olivier, delivering a masterclass performance to secure a commanding 21/9, 21/13 victory.

Having swept through all her preliminary matches in Group A, Scholtz continued her dominance in the final, defeating Olivier in straight sets to claim the coveted title.

Scholtz’s winning streak didn’t end there. Partnering with Megan de Beer in the Women’s Doubles, the dynamic duo outclassed Deborah Godfrey and Diane Olivier in an intense three-set battle.

After taking the first set 21/10, Scholtz and de Beer dropped a close second set 20/22, but they powered through in the final set, winning 21/9 to seal the championship. The pair were unbeaten throughout the group stage and capped their run with a thrilling victory in the final.

Johanita’s double triumph at the national championships cements her status as a dominant force in South African badminton.
