The 34-year-old, who is looking to go a step further at Roland Garros this year after finishing in the semi-finals in 2020, won 6-3, 6-4 on Court No. 13.
Montjane will next face the winner of the match between Japanese second seed Yui Kamiji and Jordanne Whiley of Britain.
