With two games left to be played the inaugural Cricket South Africa Professional Women’s Domestic League on Saturday 13 April, the stage is set for an exciting finish in what has been a sensational domestic season for women’s cricket in South Africa.
As the tournament approached its thrilling finish, World Sports Betting Western Province Women beat Fidelity Titans Women by 3 wickets last weekend in Cape Town, on Saturday 6 April, 2024.
The hosts won the toss and chose to field first in their concluding group-stage fixture of the season. Captain of the #DaisyLadies Robyn Searle (58) was the only player to make inroads against a destructive Western Province bowling attack.
Titans were bowled out for 139, with Jemma Botha taking 3 wickets for the hosts.
In response, Babette de Leede (47), Jemma Botha (35) and Cara Bester (23) steered the hosts to a 3-wicket victory in the 41st over. Paulinah Mashishi took two wickets for Titans, but it was not enough for her side.
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins Women are currently the log leaders and they will be hosted by the DP World Lions Women at DP World Wanderers Stadium.
Should the Lions win with a bonus point, they could easily leapfrog the Dolphins for the title. In the final match of the season Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers will host Recon Tactical Free State Women at Six Gun Grill Recreation Ground.
