International South African cricketer, Mignon du Preez, returns to the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League after signing a new deal with the Australian side.
du Preez has been part of the Stars roster since the WBBL|03. She makes her 50th appearance in Australia’s women’s domestic Twenty20 cricket competition later on in the year.
Speaking in a media release on melbournestars.com.au, du Preez said, “It has been a crazy year so far, but I am looking forward to the WBBL, joining the ‘bubble’ and catching up with all my friends at the Stars.
“The club has made some good signings and we should be confident about we can achieve this season.”

Stars’ Coach Trent Woodhill pointed out the importance of adding the experienced 31-year-old into his team.
“Mignon is the all-time leading run scorer in WBBL for the Stars with over 1,100 runs to her name.
“We were always keen to retain her experience and versatility in being able to play a range of roles through the batting line-up,” he concluded.
du Preez will be joined by fellow Momentum Proteas stars, Shabnim Ismail (Synden Thunder), Nadine de Klerk (Brisbane Heat) and Laura Wolvaardt (Adelaide Stars).
