The Paris 2024 Games officially bursts into life on Saturday following Friday night’s opening ceremony, and in women’s participation events, there are four sports involving Team SA today.

Badminton
Women’s singles, Group H (2.50pm): Johanita Scholtz vs Kim-Ga Eun (Kor)
Note: Scholtz is ranked No 43 in the world, and Eun is ranked No 13

Judo
Women’s -48kg elimination, round of 32 (10.24am): Geronay Whitebooi vs Jacqueline Solis (Arg)
Note: Whitebooi is ranked No 39 in the world, and Solis is ranked No. 63

Rowing
Women’s single scull, heats (10.12am): Paige Badenhorst
How it works: There are 6 heats of 5 competitors. The first 3 in each heat progress to the quarter-finals. The remainder head to the repechages

Surfing
Women’s first round, heats (from 11.48pm): Sarah Baum

Swimming
Women’s 100m butterfly, heats (11.08am): Erin Gallagher
Women’s 100m butterfly, semi-finals (8.30pm): Erin Gallagher TBC
