South Africa’s Shandré Fritz and Lauren Agenbag form part of the elite 13 all-star, all-female panel of match officials as unveiled by the ICC ahead of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which is to be hosted by Bangladesh in the UAE.
Claire Polosak leads the panel with her wealth of experience, having officiated in four previous Women’s T20 World Cup tournaments. Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams, who had the honour of officiating the final in the previous edition, also return for their fourth stint.
TV umpire for the last final, Sue Redfern, will again be part of the officiating team, while Zimbabwe’s Sarah Dambanevana makes her debut in this prestigious tournament.
Sean Easey, ICC Senior Manager for Umpires and Referees, expressed pride in announcing this remarkable team, saying, “This group is truly among the best, selected for their outstanding recent performances.
“They are a testament to the growth of women in cricket, and we have full confidence that they will ensure this event runs smoothly and fairly, bringing excitement to every match.”

The global tournament’s first fixture sees Bangladesh tackle Scotland on Thursday, 3 October, while the Proteas Women are up against the West Indies in their opening outing on Friday 4 October.
With such a stellar lineup of officials, including South Africa’s own stars, the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup promises to be an exciting spectacle for cricket fans worldwide.
