In the Under-16 Girls category, the second-seeded Allegra van der Walt of South Africa won the title after beating her top-seeded compatriot Morgan Jordaan 6-2, 6-2 in the final, while the third-seeded Zahara El Zein of Zimbabwe came third after beating Lonwabo Majeke of South Africa 7-5, 3-6, 10-5.

In the Girls Under-14 category, Zimbabwe’s top-seed Kuzivaishe Chapepa beat the unseeded South African, Jordan Edwards, 6-2, 6-1 in the final. Fellow South African Nikilitha Ndungane finished third, after beating the second-seeded Akeelah Khanye of Zimbabwe 6-4, 6-3.

In the team’s competition, Zimbabwe’s Under-14 girls faced South Africa in the finals and bested them with a 2-0 score to win the overall title.

South Africa’s Under-16 girls won all their round robin matches to claim the over-all team’s title. They played their last match against Botswana and won 3-0.

With these impressive victories, the South African winning teams have earned their spots at the African Junior Team Championship, scheduled to take place in North Africa later this year.
