Inclement weather had the final say in the fifth T20 between Zimbabwe and SA Emerging at the Takashinga Sports Club on Sunday 26 November. The six-match series is level 2-2 with one match to go, as the match rained out at the start of the second innings.
SA Emerging called correctly at the toss and chose to set the target. Andrie Steyn 30 (23) and Annerie Dercksen 18(17) put on a 42-run partnership, that laid the foundation for the visitors.
With the Emerging side steadily putting runs on the board in the power-play, Zimbabwe bowling unit staged a counter attack with the wicket of Lara Goodall 4 (8) that left the visitors on 56/3 in the ninth over.
Nondumiso Shangase 19 (18) and Eliz Mari-Marx 8 (14) regained momentum as they took South Africa to 72/3. Jenna Evans played a crucial 16 (25) as the South African scoreboard crossed the 100-run mark before ending on 107/8 in their allotted overs.

Zimbabwe’s opening batters, Mary-Ann Musonda 10* (6) and Modester Mupachikwa 4* (3) took their team to 14/0 in 9-balls.
With 94-runs still to get, inclement weather led to the stoppage of the contest, and the match was eventually called off rained out, with no result.
In an all to play for in the final and deciding match on Monday 27 November at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, who will pull out the big match temperament to emerge series winners on the day. Match is at 12h00 CAT.
