    The SPAR Hockey Inter-Provincial tournament’s Section B resumed at the Hartleyvale Astro in Cape Town on Thursday morning as the miserable Cape Town weather continued. 

Peninsula Secure 3rd Win

  Match seven of the SPAR Hockey Inter-Provincial in Cape Town featured Witwatersrand and the Eastern Province Settlers, with both teams needing to make progress on Wednesday with an eye on Saturday’s Finals, in Hartleyvale, Cape Town.  

Peninsula in Strong Start

  Boland took on the EP Settlers in the opening match of B-Pool at the SPAR Inter-Provincial Hockey tournament in Cape Town on Monday, and after a nil-all half-time score, Boland opened the tournament scoring from a penalty.  

WP Aim to Keep Honours at Home

    Traditional rivals Western Province and Southern Gauteng will be among the teams battling it out for top honours when the SPAR Interprovincial Women’s Hockey Tournament gets underway at Hartleyvale in Cape Town next Monday.  

Peninsula Tops B Section

Peninsula will go into day 3 with a 100% record as worthy log leaders, and the +3 goal difference will be welcome, should their remaining pool matches against a resurgent Witwatersrand on Wednesday, Border on Thursday, and lowly Free State on Friday prove more than difficult.

The national team for the upcoming World Cup in Spain will be announced at the end of the SPAR Inter-Provincial Hockey Tournament starting in Randburg today.

Hockey IPT Kicks Off

Day one’s final game highlight fittingly saw defending champions Southern Gauteng battle against worthy rivals KwaZulu Natal to a 1-all score late into the game, before Lindsey Carlisle scored off a penalty to record a win for Southern Gauteng’s match.
