The Women’s swimming team to represent South Africa at the coming World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Europe has been announced.
Taneal Baptiste from Tuks will lead the ladies for the competition, which starts in Berlin, in Germany, on Friday.
Milla Drakopolous and Bailey Lambert are both from Seals Swimming Club.
Baptiste is carving her space as a versatile swimmer, competing in the 50mand 100m freestyle races, 50m & 100m butterfly and 50m & 100m breaststroke.
The venue for the upcoming showpiece begins in familiar Berlin where the German capital has held 18 events since 2000.
The first leg has a stacked field that sees swimmers hailing from all over the swimming world, with large contingents coming from Australia, Japan, and the United States, as well as smaller yet star-studded teams from Great Britain, Canada, China, and Italy.
All the upcoming meets will be qualifying events for the World Aquatics Championships – Doha 2024 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
