South African diving sensation, Zalika Methula, continues to make strides in her rising career as she was crowned South African Junior Champion at the recent SA Diving Championships in Durban.
The 15-year-old is reaping the rewards of her hard work as she was placed first in the 1m and 3m dives, second in the platform, winner of the highest dive in the A group event, winner for most improved diver and the Victrix Ludorum winner for 2022.
Adding to her already illustrious victory, Methula was selected into the SA Junior and Senior Diving squads, World Grand Prix Squad and has once again qualified for the World Junior Diving Championships that will take place in Canada in 2022.
Speaking to gsport, Methula could not contain her excitement: “I am very pleased and excited with my performance that I had put out at the Nationals. I learned many lessons, that I will never forget.
“I also set goals for the competition which I have successfully accomplished. The biggest goal was definitely to make the World Junior team for 1m and 3m. With the grace of God, I have made the team and I am very excited to represent my country in Canada,” she concluded.
