Cricket South Africa and the Board of Control for Cricket in India have confirmed the Youth T20 International Tri-Series, featuring South Africa U19 Women alongside India U19 A and B in Pune, India, from 3 to 12 December, 2024.

The Tri-Series will comprise two round-robin matches for each team, culminating in the final on Thursday, 12 December. All fixtures will be held at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, located in Gahunje Village on the outskirts of the city.

The SA U19 team, led by head coach Dinesha Devnarain, and the host nation, India, will use these Youth T20I matches as vital preparation for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, set to be held in Malaysia from 18 January – 02 February next year.

Under the leadership of captain Kayla Reyneke from World Sports Betting Western Province, the 15-player squad travelling to India will feature the same group of emerging talents that secured a commanding 5-0 series victory over Ireland in Tshwane earlier this month, including Proteas Women-capped players Seshnie Naidu and Karabo Meso.

SA U19 Women Convenor of Selectors, AJ Rudman, commented: “This tour to India is an invaluable opportunity for our young players to gain international exposure and experience challenging conditions ahead of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

“The Tri-Series will provide our team with a platform to measure themselves against quality opposition and further refine their skills in high-pressure matches.”

“Competing in India, a country renowned for its passion for cricket and unique playing conditions, will be an excellent test for Coach Dinesha and her players.”
