South African footballer, Letago Madiba, added a Master’s Degree Qualification to her list of academic achievements on Monday, 9 November 2021.
Madiba, who currently plays for ALG Spor in the Turkish Women’s First Football League, is making a name for herself on the international scene both on and off the field.
The 30-year-old took to Facebook to share her journey of being a student-athlete, saying: “Being a student-athlete is not easy.

“The many hours you spend training and competing all while ensuring your academics are not being neglected takes a lot of commitment.” – South African international footballer, Letago Madiba
“The past 2 years of my Master’s Degree was completed while being a professional athlete in Europe,’ said Madiba.
“I need to humbly thank all those who have had a part in my academic career from TUT Sport, to my coaches and teammates, family and friends, with special mention to my supervisors for the time and assistance even though I was out of the country,” she added.
“I encourage every young athlete to make education a priority. Being a student-athlete is rewarding, despite the many challenges. All things are possible if you put your mind to it!” she concluded.
