Spin held sway under the Durban lights as WSB Western Province Women retained the Hollywoodbets Pro20 title with a composed four-wicket victory over DP World Lions Women at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, Durban, Friday, 13 March, 2026.
Western Province won the toss, elected to field, and made the decision count immediately, with Caitlin Wyngaard opening her wickets column in the very first over with Lions on the back foot after the loss of Madison Landman before they could settle.
Jenna Evans held the innings together with the top score of 22 off 39 balls, while Sunette Viljoen contributed 12 and Neo Molefe chipped in with 10, but none of the Lions batters could anchor a meaningful partnership on what proved a difficult evening with the bat.
Tatum le Roux was the pick of the Western Province bowlers, claiming 3/18 from four overs and breaking the back of the Lions innings by dismissing Raisibe Ntozakhe for 3 and Shabnim Ismail for 5 in the middle overs.
Wyngaard backed her up with 2/15, and Delmi Tucker’s miserly 1/10 from four overs ensured there was no late acceleration. The Lions were contained to 75/8 from their 20 overs, a total that was always going to demand something extraordinary from their bowlers.
Ntozakhe provided exactly that. The Lions captain delivered one of the performances of the final with a devastating spell of 4/9 from four overs, removing Oluhle Siyo (24), Delmi Tucker (0), Miya Lalor (3), and Yandiswa Mangele (1) in quick succession to leave Western Province teetering at 59/6. It was a spell that lit up Kingsmead and gave the Lions a foothold they would ultimately be unable to convert.

Lara Goodall had earlier given Western Province a purposeful start with 20 off 21 balls before falling lbw to Kgomotso Rapoo, and Siyo’s patient 24 off 38 balls had laid the platform for the chase.
When Ntozakhe’s burst threatened a stunning Lions comeback, it was Western Province captain Leah Jones who kept her composure. Jones finished unbeaten on 14 off 19 balls, guiding her side to 76/6 in 18.4 overs and securing the title with eight balls to spare.
The result confirmed Western Province’s dominance over the Lions across both their meetings this season, with the Cape Town side having also been the only team to defeat Ntozakhe’s outfit during the home-and-away phase of the competition.
