Over the month of October, South African athletes raised the profile of women’s sport across the globe, leading to an outstanding monthly #GAL2022 list powered by the Momentum gsport Newsroom in partnership with Telkom.
Cycling sensation Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio features on the list after bagging her first World Tour victory of her career, winning the Mountain Stage of the inaugural Tour de Romandie Féminin race.
Canoeing sisters Saskia and Valma-Jean Hockly are another standout feature on the list after the two earned silver in the Junior K2 category at the ICF Canoe Marathon Championships.
Varsity Sport dominated the monthly as young stars proved their worth on the sports field. Maties Netball earned the Varsity Netball crown, Tuks bagged the Hockey title, while UJ earned both the Varsity Football and Varsity Rugby 7’s trophies.
