During the month of April, South African women in sport dominated the world of sport, resulting in a fierce fifth monthly newsmakers intake ahead of our fifth edition of the gsport Annual List event powered by Momentum, in partnership with Telkom, in December 2023.
On home soil, long distance running sensation, Gerda Steyn, entered her name into the Two Oceans Marathon history books as she completed her fourth consecutive victory, smashing her own course record in the process.
There were also outstanding performances in the pool as para-swimmer Minke Janse van Rensburg powered to a 100m freestyle World Record, while Tatjana Schoenmaker claimed the 100m and 200m breaststroke double at the SA National Aquatic Championships.
