The Hollywoodbets Dolphins Women extended their unbeaten streak with a nail-biting three-wicket win over the Knights Women at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, while the Fidelity Titans Women ended their drought with the return of their international players to claim a decisive 56-run victory over the DP World Lions Women at SuperSport Park in Centurion, in the Hollywoodbets Pro50 Series fixtures on Saturday, 2 November 2024.
After winning the toss, the Knights Women set a competitive target of 187/9 from their 50 overs, thanks to impressive contributions from Izel Cilliers (65), Zintle Kula (36), and Anica Swart (24). Cilliers played a determined knock, anchoring the innings, while Kula provided crucial support.
The Dolphins’ bowlers, led by Ayanda Hlubi with her brilliant 3/27, kept the scoring in check. Hlubi was ably supported by Nondumiso Shangase, who claimed 2/36, and Jade de Figueiredo, maintaining a disciplined line throughout the innings.
Chasing 188, the Dolphins Women faced early pressure as wickets fell at regular intervals, but Alexandra Candler’s resilient 68 set a solid foundation. Candler showed nerves of steel, putting together key partnerships with Nicole de Klerk (39) and Courtney Gounden (20) to steer the Dolphins towards their target.
Despite some fine bowling from the Knights, particularly Gizelle Janse van Rensburg (2/31) and Evodia Yekile (2/36), the Dolphins Women reached 188/7 in 37.6 overs, clinching a hard-fought victory with just three wickets to spare.
This win keeps the Dolphins Women unbeaten in the series, while the Knights Women continue their search for their first win of the season.
In Saturday’s second fixture, the Fidelity Titans Women celebrated their first win of the series when they emerged victorious over the DP World Lions Women by 56 runs, at SuperSport Park.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Titans Women were bowled out for 231 in 47.5 overs. Katherine Prior’s steady 56, Gandhi Jafta’s solid 34, and a fighting unbeaten 26 from Rasika Maharaj provided the backbone of the innings.

The Lions Women’s bowling attack was led by Kgomotso Rapoo (3/40), with strong support from Madison Landsman (2/33), Relebohile Mkhize (2/35), and Jenna Evans (2/36), as they managed to restrict the Titans to a challenging total.
Chasing 232, the Lions Women struggled against a disciplined Titans bowling attack, finishing at 175 all out in 44.1 overs. Despite strong performances from Tazmin Brits (40) and the seasoned Sunette Viljoen-Louw (46), the Lions could not build the partnerships needed to overhaul the target.
Alysia Rudolph was the star with the ball for the Titans, taking an impressive 3/11, while Suné Luus (2/26) and Gandhi Jafta (2/23) played key supporting roles.
The Titans Women celebrated a comprehensive 56-run win, adding another victory to their campaign and reinforcing their position as one of the top contenders in this inaugural Pro50 Series.
The Dolphins Women’s narrow escape and the Titans’ commanding performance make this weekend’s Pro50 action one to remember as the teams continue their fight for supremacy in the series.
