The Springbok Women’s Sevens team successfully defended their Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup title with a clinical performance in the final, where they beat hosts Kenya by 22-0 in the final of the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, in Kenya on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
Earlier on Sunday, the South Africans – who didn’t concede one try during the entire tournament – beat Ghana 48-0 and Madagascar 29-0 in the quarter- and semi-finals to book their spot in the decider.
They also confirmed that the Bok Women, who have won every Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup final they played in the history of the tournament, have qualified for the eight-team Division Three competition that will be staged as a standalone Challenger event in Dubai in January.
Maria Tshiremba was in devastating form against Ghana and scored three tries in the first half of the quarter-final. Shiniqwa Lamprecht scored a brace as the defending champions raced to a 29-0 lead at the break.
The second half delivered three more tries as Ayanda Malinga (2) and Leigh Fortuin dotted down.
Against Madagascar, the South Africans dominated possession and territory and never looked in trouble against the island side. Simamkele Namba was very sharp on attack and scored a first half brace on their way to a 17-0 lead at the break.

The second half delivered more fruits on attack, with Zintle Mpupha scoring early and Liske Lategan late in the half for South Africa to go into the final with momentum.
The first-half of the final was closely fought, with Shiniqwa Lamprecht breaking the deadlock shortly before the break, with Nadine Roos adding the extras to give South Africa a 7-0 lead.
Simamkele Namba scored from the restart as they showed great patience with ball in hand to make it 12-0.
When Patience Mokone went over with two minutes remaining, the result was all but sealed, but Roos had the final say with a fourth try from a quick tap penalty after the hooter.
