Global Recognition Headlines Second Monthly #GAL2022 Intake

The more we report on women’s sport, the more newsmakers we unearth as we unveil our second monthly intake heading into our fourth gsport Annual List event in December 2022.

This year, the gsport Team agreed to highlight 10 outstanding newsmakers each month who will be considered for the gsport Newsmaker of the Year at a special lunch.

Over the past month, Momentum Proteas international stars including Laura Wolvaardt, Lizelle Lee, Marizanne Kapp and Shabnim Ismail received deserving ICC recognitions for their ground-breaking performances on the global stage in 2021.

Dominique Scott-Efurd topped the charts as she made history becoming South Africa’s second all-time fastest women’s long-distance runner.

Another highlight moment saw Springbok Women’s Catha Jacobs sign with Saracens in England and Banyana Banyana international, Linda Motlhalo signs a renewed deal with Djurgardens until 2023.
