Hollywoodbets Dolphins Women continued their red-hot form on the road with a dominant seven-wicket win over Fidelity Titans Women, to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Pro20 Series, at the Groenkloof Cricket Oval on Sunday, 24 November, 2024

Added to their unbeaten Pro50 series campaign, sees the unbeaten team celebrate an incredible streak of 10 consecutive Hollywoodbets Pro Series match wins.

Titans, opting to bat first, managed 116/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Amogelang Maphangula top-scored with 36, while Chanel Venter (15) and Tebogo Macheke (14) offered support. The Dolphins’ bowlers were on point, with Jade de Figueiredo’s outstanding 3/9 wreaking havoc alongside Seshnie Naidu (2/29) and Zintle Mali (2/22).

The Dolphins’ chase was spearheaded by the unstoppable Nicole de Klerk, who smashed an unbeaten 72 in a Player-of-the-Match performance.

Alexandra Candler’s run-a-ball 26 seemed pedestrian by comparison, and Courtney Gounden’s equally-fast 10* ensured Dolphins reached the target in just 15.3 overs, finishing at 120/3.

Despite Rasika Maharaj’s spirited 3/26, the Titans were unable to contain the in-form Dolphins batting lineup.

Western Province Revel in Second Weekend Win in Bloemfontein

WSB Western Province Women claimed a key victory on Sunday, putting everything in to edge a hard-fought 16-run victory over Knights at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Western Province posted a competitive 129/7 in their 20 overs.

Former Proteas skipper Dané van Niekerk (36) opened with Jemma Botha (34) and the two compiled a 50-partnership within the PowerPlay to anchored the visitors’ innings, while contributions from Kayla Reyneke (15) and Lara Goodall (13) added valuable runs.

Caitlin Wyngaard (13*) and Tatum le Roux (3*) finished unbeaten, nudging the total past the 120-mark.

The Knights bowlers performed valiantly, Miané Smit (1/17) with the opening breakthrough to remove the dangerous Van Niekerk, and Gizelle Janse van Rensburg (2/20) and Zintle Kula (2/11) leading the attack, while the double-strike by Evodia Yekile (2/23) in the 12th over to remove Goodall and Botha in quick succession rocked the Province batting order.

But, in response, the Knights Women struggled to maintain momentum despite hardy knocks from opener Izel Cilliers (16), Elandri Janse van Rensburg (16) and Smit (30).

Zintle Kula’s unbeaten 12* tried to spark a late revival, but Western Province’s disciplined bowling – led by Reyneke’s superb 3/17 for their first three wickets, and supported by Leah Jones (2/28) and Caitlin Wyngaard (1/26), restricted the home side to 113/6 in their response, sealing the win for the visitors.
