Cricket South Africa Women’s Professional Domestic T20 Challenge League made a landmark stride when the Fidelity Titans Women hosted the Recon Tactical Free State Women’s team in a live broadcast of their match, at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Friday 8 March 2024.
The televised match put on national display the immense talent and competitiveness within the women’s domestics cricket structure in South Africa, with both teams entertaining the crowd on the day.
Titans, having chosen to bowl first after winning the toss, showed their prowess and confidence from the get go as they restricted Free State to 115/7 in their innings.

Anneke Bosch stole the show with an unbeaten (65*) for the #DaislyLadies as they dominated the match to secure an 8-wicket victory.
DP World Lions women secured a 2-run victory over their visitors Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers in another thrilling encounter at the DP World Wanderers Stadium, on Sunday, 10 March.
Winning the toss, Badgers had a bowl first and they did not make things easy for the home team. Madison Landsman (30), Kirstie Thomson (23), Diara Ramlakan (26) and an unbeaten effort from Proteas wicketkeeper Sinalo Jafta (31*) pushed the Lions total to 114/5 in their allotted 20-overs.
Micaela Andrews took 3/16 with Tabitha la Grange contributing 2/16 for the Badgers as they restricted their hosts to a chasable total.
In response, the Badgers’ opening pair of La Grange (27), Tazmin Brits (25) and Asakhe Nyovane (21) all took the fight to the Lions bowlers, but the destructive pace bowler Ayabonga Khaka brought her #LionsPride to bear, taking 4/26 in an effort well-supported by Relebohile Mkhize (2/7), to beat the Badgers by a mere 2 runs.
In the only match in division two, Glencore Dragons beat the Mpumalanga Rhinos Women by 10 wickets in their match at White River. Choosing to bowl after winning the toss, Dragons restricted the Rhinos to 84/8 in their allotted overs. Angel Mngwenya (41*) and Lalique Broxham (13), were the only batters to reach double figures, as Dragon’s bowler Rode de Nysschen took 3/6 in her bowling spell.
In their response, the Dragons opening pair of Diedre van Rensburg (45*) and Rode van Nysschen (30*) chased down the target in the 17th over, awarding the Glencore Dragons Women a victory by 10 wickets, and the weekend double.
